Celebrating Black Business Month: A Tribute to Black Joy and Entrepreneurial Spirit

Can you believe it is August already??? I suppose time really does fly when you’re having fun! Among other things, August is a very special month for us at Little Bogan Books.

It’s Black Business Month, and we’re proud to be in that number!

While there is so much to celebrate, Black Business Month is more than just a celebration; it's a powerful reminder of the resilience, creativity, and dedication that Black entrepreneurs have infused into their ventures. It’s a time to recognize the hurdles overcome, the innovations introduced, and the profound impact that Black-owned businesses have made on communities and economies. As a Black woman owned, and family-operated business, we deeply understand the journey of creating a business that not only thrives but also uplifts our community.

At Little Bogan Books, our mission is clear: to create children’s books that center and celebrate Black joy, affirm our children’s identities, and inspire a lifelong love of reading. Each story we craft is a celebration of the beauty, imagination, creativity, and boundless potential of Black children. From the vibrant illustrations to the uplifting narratives, every book is a testament to the incredible talent within our community. We are proud to be a part of a larger movement that prioritizes authentic representation and celebrates the unique voices that contribute to our collective narrative.

As we revel in the spirit of Black Business Month, I invite you to join us in celebrating the incredible Black-owned businesses that enrich our lives and communities. Support them, amplify their voices, and acknowledge their contributions to our cultural and economic landscape. Every purchase, recommendation, and shout-out helps to build a more inclusive and vibrant marketplace.

Here’s to Black joy, Black creativity, and Black excellence!

With pride and gratitude,
